Canada Student Loan and New Brunswick Student Loan

NB student loans

Student finance assistance from the Government of Canada and the Government of New Brunswick is intended to help eligible New Brunswick residents access post-secondary academic opportunities and to encourage them to complete their schooling in a timely and successful manner.

All federal and provincial student loan, grant and bursary programs for New Brunswick post-secondary students are administered by Student Financial Services.

Eligibility:
To be fit for full-time Fed and provincial student finance help, you may meet all the following conditions :

. You have to be a Canadian voter or a permanent resident of Canada, or be delegated as a protected person within the meaning of subsection 95 ( two ) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act ;
. You must be a resident of New Brunswick ( see Section a few of the application form ) ;
. You must demonstrate finance need ( see How Your Need Is figured out ) ;
. You must be enrolled in, and maintain, a minimum of 60 percent of a full-time course load ( students with a permanent disability must enrol in at least forty per cent of a full-time course load ) ;
. You must be signed up to a degree, diploma or certificate program of a duration of at least twelve weeks at a delegated post-secondary tutorial institution ;
. You must maintain a Satisfactory Scholastic Standard;
. You have to be within the times of Studies plus one Limit and the Lifetime Limit ;
. Your previous Canada or NB Student Loan must be in good standing or have been paid back ; and
. You need to pass the federal and provincial credit checks if you’re a first-time applicant 22 years of age or older.

The Government of Canada provides sixty % of your considered need in the form of Canada Student Loan funding, up to a maximum of $210 per week of study. The central authority of New Brunswick provides forty % of your considered need in the shape of NB Student Loan funding, up to $140 per week of study. This funding is issued on one integrated Certificate of suitability and Canada Student Loan and NB Student Loan agreement ( typically called as “Certificate of Eligibility”).
